Six is the magic number!
Harveys Bar F.C 6 - 1 Winster Wasps
Harveys Bar once again push aside there opponents in a one sided affair. Some said that last season Harveys could play football but had no end product. They have certainly have got one this season after scoring twelve in two.
The squad welcomes back Goodall, Woodhouse, Wood & Newton. It also saw the return of Warmsley and trialist Bryan to a game that Bettney was able to roll on and off as much as he wanted. Cantill once again started in goal with Wild still not returned from injury.
The game kicked off and Harveys seem to control the game. Haywood and Goodall working well in midfield with Armshaw looking dangerous down the left. The first goal came from work down the right before harveys getting a corner. The cross came through and a touch from Sanderson found ARMSHAW to set Harvey's on there way. From the restart Harveys seem to kick into action and Maycock thought he'd double the lead only to turn and find his run was marginally offside.
The game was all being played in Winster's Half and it wasn't long before the second goal came. Both wings were giving Winster some problems but it was Haywood finding space inside, with a glance at goal HAYWOOD found the back of the net from 30 yards out to put harveys 2-0 to the good. Winster's players never gave up, two individuals gave Harveys players something to think about and when Cantrill's miss kick went straight to the Winster forward they looked to hit back before the keeper took action and went and headed the ball out for a throw.
Harveys started to push and when changes came again players started to wander. A shot from Swift then provided Warburton with a corner. After Sanderson had gone for previous corners Smith's chance came. As the Cross came in SMITH rose well to head home his 1st and Harveys 3rd.
Players seem to loose where they were playing and trialist Bryan went on a run from right to left before a challenge giving Harveys a throw. Newton then tore down the left only to have his cross intercepted and put out for a corner. Once again Warburton was the provider this time BOAM was there to head his first of the day, before leaving the field.
Then Winster enjoyed there best spell of the game to no avail as Cantrill and his defense stood tall to keep there clean sheet intact
H/T Harveys Bar F.C 4 - 0 Winster Wasps
The team that ended the first half started the second; Cantrill, Gratton, Sanderson, Smith, Hancock, Newton, Wood, Woodhouse, Bradshaw, Swift, Warmsley.
The teams were on par with neither being able to break down the back lines only harveys seem to be winning as the played once again the Winster Half. It took the inclusion of Haywood and Armshaw to once again kick Harveys into action. It was looking good with movement and passing throughout the side. Then Newton found his way through and after rounding the keeper found BOAM whose movement left him with a simple tap into an empty goal. At five nil harveys started to ease up and allowed a glimmer to Winster who never seemed to be able to break the back five.
Harveys completed there scoring in the 75th minute when Armshaws corner found centre back SMITH again this time producing a diving header low past the Winster keeper. At six nil changes saw Sanderson off and Haywood moved into a back three. Harveys didn't seem to know what was happening and in the confusion of changes found themselves defending a corner in the 88th minute. The cross came in and after poor making Smith's fortunes changed after his defection took it away from stranded Cantrill and Gratton on the line.
The game was another good run out for Harveys which have seen them put twelve goals in two pre season friendlies. There next test is on Saturday at Stoney Middleton who play in the Hope Valley League.
