Lions rampage over Harveys
Darley Lions 5 - 1 Harveys Bar F.C
Players returned for this fixture and Harvey’s looked to have a near full squad. Bettney had to make changes to try and stop the floods of goals. Lions lined up in pretty formular style in a 4-4-2 formation with Keeton keen to add to his goal scoring tally for the season. Harveys starting eleven: Wild, Wragg, Smith, Haywood, Newman, Warburton, Woodhouse, Evans, Gratton, Goodall, Boam.
Darley opted to change ends with the sun beating down on an evening Harveys wish they were at a BBQ rather than facing another grueling encounter. They started the game and a slip in the middle of the park gave Keeton an early eye for goal. Harveys playing 4-5-1 couldn't retain the ball going forward and this was soon caught them out when they committed too many forward and lost the ball the counter attack was on. Wragg and Keeton went head to head in a foot chase Wragg looked to have won the battle and give Lions a corner until ref Bailey gave a penalty. Longley converted Cooley past Wild who came back into the side having missed pre season and opening games.
Harveys seem to wake as always when behind and start to get into the game with Evans and Goodall battling away as normal. Darley's attack had numerous chances but either shot wide of the target or went too soon to find themselves off side with Haywood keeping Harveys defense in a tight line. Darley added a second though through some hard work, Allsop and Keeton's work paid off as Longley added a second. Half time couldn't come soon enough and although not out of the contest yet Harveys heads started to drop.

Darley Lions 2 - 0 Harveys Bar F.C
Harveys came out in the second half looking defeated it wasn't long before Darley made it another day to forget for the krytonites. French provided a ball for L. Ashton to finish this as a contest. A glimmer of hope came through when Goodall produced a moment of pure magic as he took three players on and finished into an empty net giving Lions something to think about. This glimmer was short lived as Lions forth by Harrop crushed Harveys and condemned them to there third defeat in three games. Changes were made at that point more to give people a chance than to change the game. Cantrill played outfield for the first time this season but was taken off due to an x rated challenge from Longley. Hancock and Cunningham came on for the last 15 minutes just after the last goal of the game went in. Longley who had been fantastic during the game ran the full length of the pitch and finished to bag at Hat-trick for himself and a fifth for the lions.
